The Blu-Ray physical release of Whisper Me a Love Song anime has been axed alongside fan expectations.
Although it was one of the most popular LGBTQ+ romance series of last year, Whisper Me a Love Song was beset with many issues during its airing schedule. And it seems that Whisper Me A Love Song isn't out of troubled water yet; the production company just cancelled the physical Blu-Ray release of the series. Even though refunds have been promised and issued by the company, fans are angry and disappointed over another obstruction to what had been a stellar Yuri series.
This is not the first time the Whisper Me a Love Song anime has faced such a hindrance. Based on Eku Takeshima’s popular manga, the show first started airing on April 14, 2024, with a promise of new episodes coming out weekly. However, after the release of the 8th episode, the anime went on a sudden two-week break due to some issues. The 9th and 10th episodes of the show aired in consecutive weeks, and fans thought the problems were over. However, the show then went on a months-long hiatus, only to return with the final two episodes of the first season in December 2024.
The dumpster fire of a production obviously made fans furious. This fire was fueled even more by the recent cancellation of the Blu-Ray DVDs, which would’ve given fans the chance to keep them as memorabilia. Moreover, the official website of Whisper Me a Love Song has also disappeared, making everyone worry that the series might not return with a second season. You can watch the first season of the show on Amazon Prime Videos, Crunchyroll, or Netflix, depending on your location. The story revolves around high school student Himari, who declares her love for her senior Yori’s voice after hearing her sing. Thinking this is a romantic confession, Yori starts falling for Himari. The misunderstanding lands them in some hot water when hidden feelings start to surface.
