After suffering from prostate cancer and Parkinson’s disease, the veteran voice actor passed away on January 6.
The legendary voice actor Dale Wilson, known for his work on Dragon Ball Z, Cardcaptor Sakura, and G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, has unfortunately passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2025. His wife Gail took to Facebook to share the disheartening news with his fans. Her statement didn’t highlight the actual reason for his death. However, it did point out that the 74-year-old voice actor was suffering from prostate cancer and Parkinson’s Disease. It’s likely that complications from one of these conditions took his life. His fans all expressed their grief over his passing.
Dale Wilson, born on May 10, 1950, in Canada, was one of the most well-known faces in the world of voice acting. Dragon Ball Z Ocean dub fans will remember him as the iconic villain Cell, as well as Android 18, Goz, Yami, and King Yemma. He also voiced Clow Reed in the Cardcaptors dub, Smokescreen in Transformers Armada, Mudflap in Transformers Cybertron, Watsap in Black Lagoon, and Pang Hercury in Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
Other than anime dubs, Dale had also starred in many other animated projects. He was the voice of Overkill, Skydive, Captain Grid-Iron, and Mutt in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. He has also voiced Akuma and Mike Hagger in Street Fighter, Principal Kelly in X-Men Evolution, Squink and Trumpy in Dragon Tales, Hannibal in The Little Prince, and many more. Fans will remember Dale Wilson for bringing these iconic characters to life with his incredible voice.
