Season 1 recap
First airing its debut season back in March 2023, The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You tells the story of teenager Aijou Rentarou, who has made love confessions to 100 girls in his lifetime – all of which have ended in utter rejection.
On the last day of middle school and desperate to get a girlfriend, Rentarou ends up visiting a shrine and praying for a youthful highschool romance; only to have the God of Love appear before him and say that there’s been a mistake about Rentarou’s romantic fate. Rentarou’s destined to have 100 soulmates when he enters high school instead of just one!
With the threat of death looming above each of his soulmate’s heads if he were to not return their feelings, Rentarou is set on dating each and every soulmate he’s destined to meet, giving way to a massive, polyamorous harem.
The first season ended with Rentarou earning both the blessing and the romantic feelings of Hakari’s rich and caring mother Hahari, giving way to a group of girlfriends composed of the tsundere Inda Karane, the elegant and cunning Hanazono Hakari, the cool and aloof Eiai Nano, the sweet and quiet Yoshimoto Shizuka, the medical genius Yakuzen Kusuri, and Hahari herself.
What can we expect in Season 2?
Season 2 is picking up right after Season 1, and will introduce 4 new soulmates for Rentarou to fall in love with: Haraga Kurumi, who will be voiced by Shindou Amane, Kakure Meme, voiced by Takao Kanon, Sutou Iku, voiced by Takahashi Rie, and Utsukushisugi Mimimi, who will be voiced by Lynn.
Katou Wataru will be reprising his role as Rentarou, alongside Seto Asami as Nano, Uesaka Sumire as Hahari, Hondo Kaede as Hakari, Tomita Miyu as Karane, Mimori Suzuko as Mei, Asai Ayaka as Kusuri, Naganawa Maria as Shizuka, and Chiba Shigeru as the God of Love.
Similar to Season 1, fans and viewers will be subjected to all kinds of hijinks caused by Rentarou and his girlfriends, with a ton of romantic moments in between!
