The return of the Osomatsu brothers was revealed alongside a new trailer.
The popular franchise Mr. Osomatsu or Osomatsu-san, based on Fujio Akatsuka’s 1962 manga series Osomatsu-kun, is returning again this year. The new series follows the Matsuno sextuplets from the original series but in their adult lives. Due to this, the humor and storyline of the show will incorporate some adult themes, while keeping the essence of the original story alive.
According to the official Osomatsu-san X (formerly Twitter) account, the 4th season of the show will air in July 2025. Although the definitive release date has not been disclosed yet, a new preview image and trailer for the series have been revealed. The short teaser features the six Matsuno brothers in their adulthood, while popular characters such as Totoko, Iyami, Chibita, and Hatabō will also make an appearance in the show. Like the three seasons before, Mr. Osomatsu season 4 will also be produced by Studio Pierrot.
The show features the original six Matsuno brothers- Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, and Todomatsu. Unlike in the Osomatsu-kun manga and anime, the brothers are all jobless grown-ups in the new series. Their shenanigans are more adult-themed, and the sextuplets have grown into different personalities over the years. The first season of Mr. Osomatsu came out in 2015, followed by season 2 in 2017, and season 3 in 2020. You can watch both the Osomatsu-kun and Osomatsu-san anime on Crunchyroll.
