Gachiakuta is one of the most awaited new anime releases of Summer 2025. Adapted from the incredibly popular shōnen manga by Kei Urana, the show is set to air sometime in July, although a definitive release date is yet to be decided. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime has been releasing visuals and PVs for the main characters who will appear in the show.

Based on Kei Urana’s manga, the story of Gachiakuta takes place in a world where society is divided into two parts. The wealthy live a happy and comfortable life, while the ‘tribesfolk’ who are descendants of past criminals, live in the slums. There is another place, a massive abyss known as ‘The Pit’ where all the garbage is disposed of and criminals are thrown into.
After being falsely accused of killing his adoptive father, a young boy named Rudo is also thrown into The Pit. But instead of death, he finds a place overwhelmed by garbage and something known as ‘trash beasts’ born from the waste. He is rescued by Enjin, a Giver specialising in killing trash beasts. Rudo finds a new life with Enjin and the others dedicated towards eradicating trash beasts, and vows to take revenge on the man who killed his father.
