The two new Holy Knights have started attacking the children.
The latest chapter of Eiichiro Oda’s manga finally showed the nefarious plan of the Holy Knights in action. Some massive monsters attacked the children at the Walrus school, and the teachers struggled to save them. In the Underworld of Elbaph, Loki starts wreaking havoc with Ragnir.

One Piece Chapter 1142 recap

The latest chapter begins with some of the Elbaph children crying and running to their teacher while saying that there’s a massive snake in the schoolyard. One of the teachers helps the students run away while facing the monster himself. In the Walrus School faculty room, Math teacher Mr. Blade, Principal Tusk, and Language teacher and librarian Ms. Ange are confused about what to do next. As the massive snake attacks a child named Aegir, the Principal attacks it with his tooth-shaped hammer and Saul appears and takes it down. We learn that Mr. Tusk used to be a part of the giant Pirates.
Robin and Chopper, who were with Saul, ask if monsters like this are in the Sun World too, and Saul says no. Everyone enters the school, where the gym teacher Mr. Wolf is badly injured after facing the monster. He warns the others to not touch the children and informs them that all the kids seem to be sleepwalking. They’re not waking up no matter what the others do and seem to walk beyond the school ground and into a place where more massive monsters are waiting. The elders blow a horn to alert everyone on the island about the dire situation. The rest of them try to wake the kids up, but to no avail.
In the Underground, Loki demands his last chain be unlocked or he will keep hitting things with his Ragnir hammer. And it will soon start fires on the island with its power. Luffy, Hajrudin, and the others try to stop him, but the massive giant lands a blow on the ground, causing an explosion that scares the inhabitants of the island who are confused about where to go. At the school, Ange says that she recognizes these new monsters. Earlier in class, the students were drawing pictures of what they were most scared of. Some of them drew ghosts, some dragons, monstrous snakes, and other things. And now, it seems that these monsters have come to life and are terrorising them. Elsewhere, Killingham and Sommers, the two new Holy Knights, talk about how their plan is working. The monsters will keep terrorising until the kids reach the ship, where they’ll kidnap them. They ask Gunko what she’s scared of, and she answers that it’s Nika.
One Piece Chapter 1142 review

Unlike the last few chapters, a lot of things started happening in this issue. It seems that the next battle is nigh, as Luffy and the others will have to stop Loki, who is hell-bent on getting free. Even if it means destroying his whole country. On the other hand, the rest of the Straw Hats crew will have to come up with a plan to battle the massive monsters before the children can be taken away. The stakes are incredibly high as fans are also eager to learn what’s the Holy Knights’ real plan. Overall, the chapter was pretty enjoyable as the plot progression was pretty great. I can’t wait to see Luffy duke it out with arguably one of the most powerful people in the One Piece Universe.
