Asa’s comment about Yoru’s plan for humanity is extremely ominous.
Things were pretty chill (or as chill as they can be in Chainsaw Man) after the conclusion of the Aging Devil arc. Yoru, despite wreaking unspeakable havoc, seems to have calmed down after talking to Denji. But now that Asa is in control of her own body, she says something to Denji in the latest manga chapter which is pretty chilling. Moreover, the appearance of a new character seems to mark the beginning of a new catastrophe.

Asa says that she somehow managed to take control of her body from Yoru. She then points her shaking fingers to her own temple, intent on taking her own life. However, she is unable to ‘pull the trigger’ and says that she’s scared. She points her fingers again at Denji and he asks her not to do that. Asa looks at him and asks him to kill her, or she will kill him. Denji is shocked, and Asa says that defeating the Death Devil won’t solve anything. She reveals that Yoru has planned something much worse than Humanity’s extinction and it’s so bad that she can’t even utter it.
Denji asks if she is serious and why she’s still pointing her fingers at him. She says it’s because she doesn’t have the guts to shoot herself. Asa breaks down into tears and calls herself an idiot for believing a devil and being their friend. Denji says he thinks she and Yoru can be friends, and she denies it, asking him to kill her again. But when Denji attacks her with a chair, she starts screaming and scrambles out of his reach. She tells Denji to agonize a little more over killing her. The protagonist says that although he always comes back after dying, he’s always scared of it. Someone who dies only once will of course have it much worse. Asa says that many people died because of Yoru, and she doesn’t want to cause any more destruction by not being able to speak up.
Denji offers her solace and says they can talk about all the unpleasant stuff once he defeats the Death Devil. He points to a building and tells Asa to think about blasting through that and have fun with him. She listens to him and points her finger in the structure’s direction. The scene moves to a high school, where students are seen preparing for an upcoming festival. The teacher welcomes a new student and says it’s a bad time to move to Tokyo when most of the students have evacuated. But the city is forcing the school to hold a festival in such dire times. He introduces the new student to the classroom. A new girl walks in, looking very shy. She tells the class that she’s the new transfer student, and she’s been sent here to save them.

From Asa’s ominous comment about what Yoru might do to the world when the Death Devil is gone, to a new character with spirals in their eyes, things are getting intriguing in Chainsaw Man. It’s likely that Yoru has planned something to bring humanity to their knees once Death Devil, her most powerful opponent, is gone. But what’s more important now is the new character. She looks similar to Fami, but since her classmates all know Fami, it seems this is a brand new Devil. Many fans think that this is the Death Devil. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, Denji will likely face this new devil soon. As always, nobody can really predict what Tatsuki Fujimoto is planning to do with his manga, which makes the series that much more interesting.
