COVER Corp CEO Motoaki Tanigo thanked Hololive fans for their continued support.
Vtubing has seen a very successful year in 2024, especially with Hololive has established itself as one of the top Vtuber companies in the industry. Motoaki Tanigo, the CEO of Cover Corp, which handles Hololive, confirmed the rapid growth of Vtubing in popular culture, giving way to a 2025 that’s even more promising to Hololive’s Vtuber talents in an official statement.
Greeting fans and supporters a Happy New Year, Tanigo divulged COVER’s new year resolution: to create a future where Vtubing is recognised and established as a profession. He notes the various achievements of Hololive’s Vtubers through exciting opportunities in mainstream media, and the company’s growing roster of talents.
Tanigo also acknowledged the inefficiency within the company that caused it to face a number of challenges last year, citing the rapid growth of COVER corp – which was not wholly equipped to keep up – as a cause of many of their problems. Tanigo assures fans and followers that the company is working hard on making changes to their organisational structure, and therefore creating a more sustainable environment for their talents, creators, employees, and staff.
Hololive has successfully launched two new Vtuber music groups in 2024 with HoloJustice and FLOWGLOW, as well as making their presence known in Major League Baseball with their collaboration with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Usada Pekora, a Hololive talent, was also nominated in The Game Awards for Content Creator of the Year.
Behind these achievements, however, were the many graduations of Hololive’s most popular Vtubers.
Watson Amelia, Hololive’s first affiliate, graduated on September 30, 2024 while Yozora Mel was terminated in early 2024 followed by Minato Aqua, a 2nd generation Hololive Vtuber, in August 2024. This month will also see the graduation of Ceres Fauna, today January 3, and Sakamata Chloe, one of the members of hololive’s 6th generation holoX, on January 26.
While Hololive is starting off 2025 with two graduations, there’s still much to look forward to. Here’s to a prosperous year for all Vtubers out there!
