AmaLee joins Vshojo’s roster as Vtuber Monarch.
In an official announcement to X (formerly Twitter), Vshojo has revealed that American singer and voice actress Amanda Lee, known online as AmaLee, has joined their roster of Vtuber talents as Monarch.
The announcement was followed by a trailer and a ‘Mafia Debut’ livestream on AmaLee’s official Twitch channel. The livestream featured a new Mafia outfit for AmaLee’s Vtuber Monarch, with outfit art and design by Janyhero, art by Lucid_Sky, and rig by Iron_Vertex.
In a post to her X account, AmaLee revealed that her debut has been in the works for almost a year and a half. She also revealed that she was not a part of the auditions, but is excited for the future debuts of new Vshojo members.
AmaLee began her career in 2006 by posting covers of anime and game songs, before debuting the youtube channel LeeandLie in 2010 in collaboration with her friend Annalie. AmaLee would post English covers of popular anime and Vocaloid songs, with an English cover for Sword Art Online’s ‘Crossing Field’ by LiSA becoming her most viewed video on the platform.
AmaLee released her first album ‘Nostalgia’ in 2017, as well as an EP titled ‘Hourglass’ the same year. AmaLee performed for a number of independent video game soundtracks and theme songs, and is known for singing the English version of the eleventh ending theme of Dragon Ball Super, ‘Lagrima’.
AmaLee would also go on to become a voice actor, with her most notable roles being Uta from One Piece Film: Red, Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling, Yuzuki Shiraishi in A Place Further than the Universe, and Ai Hayasaka in Kaguya-Sama: Love is War. She is also known for voicing the game character Jingliu from HoYoverse’s Honkai: Star Rail.
AmaLee debuted her own Vtuber character Monarch in December 2021.
