Crayon Shin-chan spinoff manga Style of Hiroshi Nohara’s Lunch gets anime adaptation

The anime will focus on Shin-chan’s father Hiroshi and all the food he eats during lunch.

The Crayon Shin-chan anime, based on Yoshito Usui’s popular manga series, is one of the most popular kids’s anime in the world. But Shinnosuke is not the only interesting character in the series. The manga spin-off by Yoichi Tsukahara, titled The Style of Hiroshi Nohara's Lunch (Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryūgi) is getting an anime adaptation by TV Asahi. The official website of the anime announced that it will start airing in October 2025.

Style of Hiroshi Nohara’s Lunch cast and staff details

This anime series will primarily focus on Hiroshi Nohara, Shinnosuke Nohara’s father. Voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa (Boros in One-Punch Man and Kagaya Ubuyashiki in Demon Slayer) is reprising his role as Hiroshi from the original Crayon Shin-chan series. This news was confirmed by the official website of the anime.

Both DLE and Shin-Ei Animation are credited for production and animation. The show will have a flash-style animation. Tsukasa Nishimiya is directing the series with Hayashi Mori and Moral writing the scripts. Koutarou Yamawaki is the character designer while Akifumi Tada is the music composer.

Crayon Shin-chan is an extremely popular manga series by Yoshito Usui, which began in 1990. The original manga ended after Usui’s death in 2009. But in 2010, a continuation titled New Crayon Shin-chan began. The anime first started airing in 1992 and is still ongoing. Yoichi Tsukahara started publishing the Style of Hiroshi Nohara’s Lunch manga in 2015 and is still serialising. The mangaka has shared his excitement about the series being adapted into an anime.

The story of this manga revolves around 35-year-old Hiroshi Nohara, Shin-chan’s father and a normal salaryman. It showcases his lunch everyday, as he tries to eat within budget in and around the office. In the series, Hiroshi shares trivia about the food he eats, and often gripes about going out with his colleagues and paying for meals. It’s an interesting slice-of-life best suited for those who have a keen interest in cuisine. The latest Crayon Shin-chan movie is bringing the troublemaker and his friends to India.
