One Piece Chapter 1141: Hajrudin's crew butts heads with Luffy

Image: Toei Animation

Nami distracts everyone at the feast but Gerd finds the truth from Rodo.

The latest chapter of Eiichiro Oda’s manga was mostly focused on Luffy and his shipmates. Instead of the two villains we saw in the last chapter, we learned what happened after Luffy and Zoro went to free Loki from his bonds. Although the giants tried to stop them when they learned about it, they might have been too late.

One Piece Chapter 1141 recap

The chapter begins with Nami complaining about not finding any treasures in the castle while coming back to the village with Rodo. We see that they’re also carrying the injured giants with them, but Luffy and Zoro are nowhere to be seen. At the Adam Tree tour, Ripley tells Franky about how there used to be another branch in the tree, which housed an entire giant village. However, it had to be cut down after it became unstable after a lightning strike. When Nami comes back to the feast, we see that Usopp is very drunk. He asks Jarul what type of woman he likes. When the ancient giant says that he likes older women, Usopp gets angry and reminds him that he’s the oldest being on the planet. He also hits the sword in his head, almost hurting Jarul. Sanji wonders where Gerd went.

Elsewhere, we see Gerd with Rodo, as she patches up the injured giants. When Rodo fails to give a satisfactory answer to her questions about how they got hurt, Gerd starts hitting him. At the Underground, Zoro and Luffy are shocked to see Loki’s bloodied body and Luffy immediately tries to free him. After a bit of back and forth, they agree that the only way to save him might be to free him, since all his animal companions are dead too. They agree to keep one of his feet locked, and start opening the rest. The giants, led by Gerd and Hajruddin, suddenly come to them and beg them not to do it. They tell Luffy that it’s a grave mistake as Loki is a liar and a heartless being who only thinks of himself. But suddenly, we realise that Loki is free when he stands up and smiles menacingly. The chapter ends with Loki picking up a weapon as Hajruddin yells at him to put down Ragnir.

One Piece chapter 1141 review

Image: Shueisha/Eiichiro Oda

The only important thing that happened in this chapter was Loki being freed. Although I’m glad Oda gave us an update about the rest of the Straw Hats and their locations before all hell breaks loose. If you remember, it’s not just Loki everyone has to worry about, but also Saint Shepperd Sommers and Saint Rimoshifu Killingam. These are two Holy Knights employed by Gunko and Shamrock to kidnap the children in Elbaph. As more chapters come out, the mystery will thicken, as will the action.
