Asa gains back control over her body which can be dangerous for Denji.
The latest chapter of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga felt like a bit of fresh air after all the terrible things that happened. Although it was by no means happy, fans were glad to see Denji get a little character development. We also learned that the arrival of the Death Devil is not far away at all. However, Fami refuses to help Yoshida and Fumiko about this impending threat, with her priorities set elsewhere.

The issue begins with Denji sitting at the edge of the bed where Yoru is sleeping. He goes to touch her while she’s unconscious, but pulls the covers on her instead. After seeing the level of carnage caused by Yoru, he says that she’s the most dangerous girl that has ever liked him. He tells Pochita that he’ll probably get screwed again by her, much like the other girls who came before. Denji starts cooking and Yoru wakes up. When she enters the kitchen, he asks if she wants to eat pot stickers.
Elsewhere, Yoshida and Fumiko hand Fami a list of things she needs to do. We learn that the Death Devil will descend on earth in just one month, and these are preventative measures Fami needs to follow. However, the Famine Devil refuses, saying her school is holding a festival for Tokyo’s revival on the same day, and she’s on the planning committee. Despite their pleas, Fami refuses to abandon her friends and help them. She says that she lives to savor, whether it’s food, experiences, or people. Unlike Denji, Yoru, and Asa, Yoshida and Fumiko are not fun, so she can’t help them. Suddenly, a few of her friends appear and take her away. Fumiko wants to stop them but Yoshida seems depressed about not being fun.
We see Denji and Yoru again, and this time they’re on a rooftop. Yoru points her finger at a tattered building and says ‘Bang’ causing a massive hole to appear in the middle of the building. Denji is delighted to see it and asks her to do the next one. But suddenly, Asa gains control of her body and calls out to him. She points her finger at him with a pained expression. Denji tells Pochita that his prediction of the dangerous girl screwing him over is coming true.

It was really good to see Fami be involved in the plot again after so long. It was even more satisfying to see her turn down the Devil Hunters. I also really loved seeing Denji gain back some self control, showing us that under all that depravity, he’s a really good person at heart. However, it’s a bit concerning how both Denji and Fami don’t seem to be worried about the Death Devil at all. Asa’s sudden appearance and her pointing her finger at Denji will likely cause some more destruction. I would love to see what transpires between the two after what Yoru did with Denji in the last few chapters.
