Looks like Tanjiro’s swapping his sword for a bat!
The official Major League Baseball X (formerly Twitter) account has teased a collaboration with popular anime title Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba today, 3 March, 2025, much to the excitement of Demon Slayer and baseball fans alike.
What to expect from the MLB x Demon Slayer collaboration
No other details have been revealed, but according to Demon Slayer’s official Japanese account on X, more information will likely be announced on 6 March, 2024 at 7:00 AM JST (6:00AM SGT). By the looks of the hashtags on the post, the collaboration will also include the upcoming Major League Baseball Tokyo Series.
The Major League Baseball Tokyo Series is set to be held on 18 March at the Tokyo Dome, and will feature 2024 World Series champions, the LA Dodgers, facing off against the Chicago Cubs for season-opening games. The upcoming series will feature a number of Japanese baseball stars, including Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Roki Sasaki from the Dodgers, and Seiya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga from the Cubs.
This isn't the first time that Major League Baseball has collaborated with a popular Japanese franchise. Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox collaborated with the massive anime franchise One Piece back in 2024. Considering the plethora of One Piece themed merch, it's safe to assume that the MLB x Demon Slayer collaboration will also feature unique baseball merch emblazoned with the Demon Slayer branding.
Demon Slayer’s Infinity Castle arc movie has received an opening date
The immensely popular dark fantasy shounen also revealed last Saturday, 1 March, 2025, that the upcoming movie focusing on the final arc of the manga, known as The Infinity Castle Arc, is set to grace the silver screen on 18 July, 2025.
The movie, titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, continues where the story left off with the anime’s fourth season, where Tanjiro and the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps undergo intensive training as Muzan Kibutsuji is planning to go on the offensive. As Oyakata-sama Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s mansion bursts into flames, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu, along with the remaining Hashiras, find themselves transported within the intricate labyrinth of Muzan’s Infinity Castle, to face off against the terrifyingly powerful Upper Moon Demons as they fight to finally end Muzan once and for all.
