Girls Band Cry is a multimedia project created by Toei Animation in collaboration with Agehasprings and Universal Music Japan. The project began in 2023, and the anime aired in 2024. The music-focused anime is also set to release a game soon. The story revolves around Nina Iseri, a high school dropout who comes to the big city to prove her worth. One day, she accidentally meets Momoka Kawaragi, who also shares Nina’s love for music. Together with other girls, the two create a band and use music to convey their emotions. However, it’s not easy to make it as a new band in the established music scene.
