We have great news for anime and J Balvin fans. That’s right! The globally acclaimed Grammy-nominated singer is joining the cast of this year’s biggest blockbuster series: Solo Leveling season 2. It has been revealed by Crunchyroll that the superstar will lend his voice to both the English and Spanish dubs of the series, which globally airs each week on the platform. However, we don’t yet know which character in the show J Balvin will voice and fans are excited to find out.
The singer has also expressed his excitement and gratitude about this new project. He said to Crunchyroll, “I’m beyond thrilled to join the cast of Solo Leveling!” Not only does this series have a passionate fanbase, but the singer himself has been a fan of anime for a long time. He is honoured to be part of the project and really excited for fans to find out what they’re working on. So far, the second season has lived up to the hype created by the first season of the anime, and the audience can’t wait for more.
Based on Chugong’s popular web novel and the consequent webtoon adaptation, the Solo Leveling anime tells the story of E-rank hunter Sung Jinwoo. After almost dying in a dungeon, Jinwoo wakes up with an integrated system that helps him complete quests and level up quickly. As he starts to get stronger, Jinwoo faces more and more powerful opponents and starts learning more about the dungeons and why they suddenly opened up. After the massive success of season 1 in 2024, the second season of the anime has also been well-received by the fans. A live-action drama has also been revealed to be in the works.
