A teaser visual has been released to announce the upcoming movie.

The popular anime franchise That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will be releasing a second movie. As per the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the show, the film will air in Japanese theatres in February 2026. A beautiful teaser visual starring the series’ protagonist Rimuru has also been posted on the official account to commemorate the occasion. According to the announcement, the name of the movie is Tears of the Blue Sea.

In the visual, we see Rimuru standing on the ocean bed, looking into the distance. This and the name suggest that the movie will centre around the deep ocean waters, although no more details have been revealed as of yet. The second movie was announced back in September 2024, and it was also confirmed that the 4th season of the anime is also under production. Unfortunately, no new details about the upcoming season were revealed in the latest announcement. We will keep you updated when new information about the upcoming movie or series is made public.

Based on Fuse’s light novel series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime previously released a movie titled Scarlet Bond, and an OVA titled Visions of Coleus. Along with the three-season-long anime, these two projects are also available to watch on Crunchyroll and Netflix. The series also has a spin-off anime show titled Slime Diaries that you can also watch on the same platforms.
