The anime adaptation of Naru Narumi’s romantic comedy manga Watari-kun's ****** Is About to Collapse (Watari-kun no xx ga Hōkaisunzen) just revealed some updates. The official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime also revealed the main cast and staff details for the project. It was also announced that the romcom series will premiere in July 2025, although a release date isn’t fixed yet.

- Naoto Watari voiced by Shūiichirō Umeda (Makoto Hanaoka in Senpai is an Otokonoko and Milo Genius in Mashle)
- Satsuki Tachibana voiced by Yumika Yano (Yumeko Suzukiri in Go! Go! Loser Ranger! and Vivian Shamal in Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion)
- Yukari Ishihara voiced by Yurie Igoma (Ruby Hoshino in Oshi no Ko and Shima in Uma Musume Pretty Derby)
The anime is being produced by Staple Entertainment. Takashi Naoya is directing the project while Tatsuya Takahashi is handling the series composition. Naoya and Tetsuya Yamada are writing the scripts for the show. Matsuo Asami is the assistant director. Shoko Yasuda is the character designer. Yasuda is also the chief animation director along with Yukiyo Komito, Toshimitsu Kobayashi, and Taeko Ōgi.

Naru Narumi’s manga series first started publishing in the Young Ace magazine by Kadokawa Shoten in August 2014. It was then moved to Kodansha’s Monthly Young Magazine, where it ended serialisation in November 2024. The anime adaptation of the manga series was announced in 2023.
The story of the series revolves around the titular character Naoto Watari, who has a complicated life. After his parents’ death, he takes care of his younger sister and the two of them live with their aunt. His protectiveness towards his sister has dubbed him amongst his peers as the dude with a sister complex. But Watari doesn’t care as his only goal is to take care of his younger sister. But when an old friend-turned-enemy Satsuki Tachibana starts attending his school, Watari’s peace is completely destroyed.
