The massively popular anime platform wants to venture into the world of manga.
The Sony Entertainment Corporation’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 began on Monday, January 6, 2025. During a press conference, Crunchyroll announced that they will launch a new digital manga reading app called Crunchyroll Manga later this year.
The Crunchyroll Manga app will be a premium service available on both iOS and Android, and will later on add browser support. Possibly those who have a premium subscription to the Crunchyroll app will be able to access manga titles on the Crunchyroll Manga app. The app will launch with only English language titles in the United States and Canada, but the platform plans to add more languages to its vault later on. Whether or not the app makes it to the rest of the world will be revealed soon.
Crunchyroll used to have a manga platform for both Android and iOS users, but it was shut down. Readers who already had the app installed noticed that no new updates were coming out and it was later also removed from the app store. Those who read their favorite manga on the app are glad to hear about its comeback. People are eager to see what titles make it to the new app once it’s released.
Crunchyroll also announced the anime adaptation of the popular video game Ghost of Tsushima during the press conference. Read more about it here.
