Konami announces Suikoden: The Anime and new manga adaptation during livestream

The JRPG franchise Suikoden is getting an anime adaptation.

Legendary JRPG franchise Suikoden will receive an anime adaptation. Konami made the announcement during the Genso Suikoden Live livestream on Tuesday (4 March). The anime will adapt the Suikoden II's story, and will be titled Suikoden: The Anime.

The anime will be handled by KONAMI Animation, an anime studio under Konami, with Yuzo Sato as the director for the adaptation. Ryo Hino from NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan serves as the producer and production manager.

Konami to adapt new Suikoden game into a manga series

Besides the announcement of the anime, KONAMI also announced a new mobile game, stage play, and concert. The mobile game will be called Suikoden: Star Leap for iOS and Android. Its story takes place after Suikoden V, but before the first Suikoden. The Rune of Change will take center stage for this new game, and will feature fully voiced scenes for the main story.

The game will also receive a manga adaptation from Suikoden III manga artist, Aki Shimizu. Kaho Nakamura will write and perform the game's theme song, Campanella.

Suikoden newest stage play will adapt the first game's story, and features characters like Tir and Ted. The Suikoden concert featuring music from Suikoden I, Suikoden II, and Suikoden: Star Leap, and will be held on May 5 at the Sumida Triphony Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
