Melinda believes that Donovan can read minds, which is suspiciously similar to what Anya can do.
The latest chapter of Tatsuya Endo’s popular manga brought a surprising twist that nobody was ready for. Melinda told Loid that she thinks her husband has been replaced by an alien because it feels as though Donovan can read the minds of everyone around him. Although Loid dismisses it, Anya reads his mind after he comes back home and wonders if Damian’s father has the same power as her. Fans are now wondering if the suspicious stitches on Donovan’s head have something to do with it.

The issue starts with Melinda saying that her husband is an alien, and Loid asking why she thinks so. However, Melinda is extremely agitated and says she can’t speak on it since her husband might find out. Loid assures her that he won’t because of patient-doctor confidentiality. However, she blows up, saying he doesn’t understand. Listening to her sudden scream, her attendant who’s sitting outside is worried. Fiona calms her down and says that Melinda is in excellent hands, but she asks the attendant to speak freely to her about things that might be bothering her mistress as she’s a psychiatric nurse.
Inside the room, Loid urges Melinda to speak up if she or her sons are being threatened. Loid promises to get them to safety where Donovan will never find them. In his mind, he thinks that it might be a great way to plant a seed of scandal and remove Donovan from power, putting an end to his warmongering ways. Melinda says that her husband hasn’t done anything to him or their children. Loid says that abuse can come in many forms other than physical. Melinda reveals that some time ago, after the birth of their children, Donovan’s disposition changed overnight, as if he became a new man. When he started to push away everyone around him, Melinda came to the conclusion that he must’ve been replaced by an alien.
Loid thinks that it might be some type of delusion, but Melinda says that even her older son has been saying the same thing. She then reveals that it seems that Donovan can read minds. That’s why, the promise of patient confidentiality doesn’t matter since he will find out about this visit soon anyway. She’s so scared for herself that she can’t even protect her two young children. After listening to this, Loid asks whether Donovan has said something to her about it. When she says no, he asks her to converse with him. Even if he’s an alien, he might be a friendly alien and talking to him may solve things. If possible, he wants her to bring him to the hospital as well. Of course, she also has to make sure that her kids are safe.
He then gives her a notebook and asks her to write about the times she thinks Donovan has read her mind and how that made her feel. He then tells her to go through a medical examination as she needs to be both mentally and physically strong to help her kids and herself. After she leaves, Fiona says that she’s not deliberately lying, but Donovan will never visit the hospital. After he gets home, Loid thinks about how ridiculous the mind-reading theory is. Anya, who’s actually a telepath, is shocked to find out that Damian’s father might have the same power as her.

The latest issue was undoubtedly one of the most surprising updates of the manga in recent times. The fan theory about Donovan being able to read minds seems to be true. Readers have been wondering whether the change in Donovan’s behaviour is related to the stitches on his head, which suggests some type of brain surgery. But if he’s actually a telepath, then Loid and his family are in grave danger. Anya might ask Damian about his father in the upcoming chapter as she’s already told him about her own powers.
