Hooded Shanks and Holy Knight Gunko try to make a deal with Loki, but he refuses to stoop to their level.
The latest chapter of Eiichiro Oda’s manga focused on the Straw Hat pirates bonding with the giants in the village. A fight broke out between the giants about what kind of God Nika is. The villagers also revealed how evil Loki is by listing his many crimes. Nami, Zoro, and Luffy left for the castle to get the key to Loki’s chains. In the Underworld, hooded Shanks and his companion approached the accrued prince.

Luffy happily eats the moose meat that Stansen and Hajrudin prepared for him. Jarul is happy that the Straw Hats came to the Sun World since most humans who come to Elbaph flee after seeing the Underworld. The rest of the Straw Hats, including Usopp, Brook, Jinbe, and Sanji all start socialising with the giants. Rodo approaches Nami and Zoro to ask for their forgiveness and is terrified when Zoro says he would’ve killed him if not for Usopp. He says that it’s everyone in Elbaph's dream to become the Sun God and rule the world.
His statement starts a small fight, as everyone has a different idea about what kind of God Nika is. Jarul tells Luffy that there’s an ancient religious text in Elbaph known as Harley. Since it’s so old, nobody can properly decipher and translate it, and everyone has a different interpretation of what’s written in it, including Nika’s nature. The Sun God Nika appears when the world is about to undergo a great transformation, making those who are in hopeless situations seek him most. Jarul thinks that Loki might’ve also wanted to become Nika, leading to his terrible actions. But the rest of the villagers tell him not to rationalise his behaviour.
When Luffy asks if Loki is such a bad person, the villagers explain how he’s not just evil, but also accursed. His mother died after giving birth to him, and he killed the royal family’s lucky horse when he was young. He also befriended the dangerous animals in the Underworld and let them out on the unsuspecting villagers. Most importantly, even before his birth, King Harald prophesied that his own son would kill him, which is what happened. Jarul had once tried to stop him, and that’s when Loki stabbed a sword through his head and helmet. It was only six years ago that Red Haired Shanks caught Loki and helped the Elbaph residents restrain him. Luffy is excited to hear about Shanks but learns he left the island some time ago.
Later, he tells Zoro about his conversation with Loki. Zoro says that after hearing everything about the accursed prince, it’s likely that he’s lying and manipulating Luffy using his weak point. However, since Luffy really wants to meet Shanks, he, Zoro, and Nami decide to sail to the place where the keys to his chains are kept. Rodo is the one taking them there and he even pledges his allegiance to Nami. Back in the Underworld, hooded Shanks and his partner offer something to Loki, but he refuses. The woman is revealed to be Holy Knight Gunko, who hurts a giant wolf to make Loki agree to their plans. However, Loki says that a true warrior never whines about his way of death, and he will bring destruction to the world by using this rage as fuel.

The latest One Piece issue was quite long and revealed many new details. We learned that there’s some misunderstanding over Sun God Nika’s origin and nature. Zoro, Nami, and Luffy will likely take the key from the castle in the next chapter and take it to Loki. If they come face-to-face with hooded Shanks and his partner, we’ll definitively learn whether it’s the real Shanks or his evil twin. Fans are also eager to learn what evil Shanks and the Holy Knight offered to Loki.
