The long-awaited third season of To Your Eternity has revealed a broadcast window alongside a new teaser visual.
To Your Eternity fans don’t have to wait any longer for Season 3, as the anime has finally revealed a broadcast window alongside a new teaser visual! To Your Eternity Season 3 (Fumetsu no Anata e) will bring Fushi into the present era, and will start broadcasting sometime in October 2025. No exact date has been revealed as of yet.
To Your Eternity Season 3 will mark a new journey for Fushi
It’s been two years since Season 3 was announced to be in production, and now Fushi will embark on a new journey in the modern world.
The teaser visual features Fushi surrounded by a bustling crowd in what could be compared to Shibuya’s famous Scramble Crossing. Behind Fushi are two mysterious figures, a girl in a school uniform glancing at him, and a black-haired little boy. Considering how these two characters are highlighted, it’s more than likely that they will play a major role in Fushi’s story.
Alongside the teaser visual, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime released a statement from Yoshitoki Oima, the manga artist behind To Your Eternity. In a machine translation, the statement reads:
“To everyone who has been following the first and second seasons, I apologise for keeping you waiting. As the original author, I have been involved in the present world arc from the closest position I have ever been to.
I think the whole series was made very carefully. Thank you to the director, staff, and cast. I’m looking forward to watching it air.”
To Your Eternity Season 3 cast, staff, and other details
So far, no confirmation regarding the cast and staff of To Your Eternity Season 3 has been revealed, although it’s highly likely that Reiji Kawashima will reprise his role as Fushi, with Dive once again animating the series.
The first season was directed by Masahiko Murata and animated by Brain’s Base, and aired in April 2021 after facing delays due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Season 1 ran for 20 episodes.
The second season premiered in October 2022, and ran until March 2023 with a total of 20 episodes. Kiyoko Sayama replaced Masahiko Murata as director, with Dive taking on the helm as animation studio.
It’s likely that Dive will once again animate the third season, although we’ll have to await confirmation.
To Your Eternity is based on the manga series of the same name by Yoshitoki Oima. It has been serialised in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2016, and has a total of 23 tankobon volumes as of November 2024.
MyAnimeList describes the plot of the first season as:
An Orb, known only as It, is cast to Earth to be observed from afar. Capable of changing forms from beings whose reflections It captures, It first becomes a rock and then, due to the rising temperature, moss.
It does not move until one snowy day, a wolf at death's door barely crosses by. When It takes the animal's form, It attains awareness of its consciousness and starts to wander with an unclear destination in mind. Soon, It comes across the wolf's master—a young boy waiting for his tribe to return from a paradise abundant with fish and fruit in the south. Although the boy is lonely, he still hopes those whom he holds dear in his memories have not forgotten him and that he will reunite with them one day.
The boy wants to explore new surroundings and decides to abandon his home with It to find the paradise using the traces his tribe left behind. However, with a heavily injured body and no sight of his elder comrades, what will become of the boy?
Fumetsu no Anata e illustrates the story of an immortal being experiencing humanity, meeting all types of people in many places throughout time.
