Aira has to fight headless yokai as Okarun and Kinta face two new enemies.
Yukinobu Tatsu’s popular manga Dandadan just released its 183rd chapter after going on a one-month hiatus. The update, although short, left a massive impact on the fandom as many new enemies seem to have emerged at the school building. With the class representative Rin Sawaki’s life hanging in the balance, Aira will have to be careful with her attack plans.

Okarun, Aira, and Kinta reached the school building in the latest chapter. Aira went ahead to deal with the commotion inside, but what she found there chilled her blood. Unfortunately, we didn’t get an update on Momo, Seiko, Jiji, and Unji Zuma.
Headless Class Representative and more aliens?

The chapter begins with Aira, Okarun, and Kinta reaching the school building where Kouki and Rin are likely in danger. The contact with Kouki has been broken after she entered the school gym. Aira says she will go ahead since Okarun can’t use his powers right now. But as she enters the gym, an explosion suddenly blows the two boys away, and they’re only saved by Kinta making an airbag with Nanoskin. Suddenly we see a weird-looking man and what seems to be an alien clad in battle armor standing above the two boys as they try to assess the situation.
Aira realises that the door to the gym has been closed, trapping her inside. She looks in front of her and sees that the massive room is filled with some headless guys, and their heads are floating above. These headless Yokai are known as Nukekubi in Japanese mythology, characterised by the ability to detach their heads from their bodies, which can travel separately.
Tatsu gives these Yokai a twist, evident when one of the heads blows a whistle, and the bodies jump up to grab the heads and start throwing them at Aira. She dodges them, but they break through the walls, showing how strong they are. This disturbing game of dodgeball angers Aira and she says that they’re not good enough to dance with her. She uses her Yokai power to dodge the heads and attack the bodies. She wonders where Kouki and Rin are. Suddenly, she sees that one of the heads floating in front of her are class rep Rin Sawaki’s with her Yokai familiar crying beside her.

The latest issue was pretty short, but gave the fans a big scare with Rin’s bodyless head. It doesn’t seem that she’s going to die, but it would be a dire situation if Aira can’t defeat the enemies and save her in time. The massive cliffhanger is worrisome for the fans. It's likely that Aira will find the one controlling the Nukekubi soon. Outside the gym, both Kinta and Okarun are in danger as the latter can’t use any Yokai powers right now. It is likely that the next chapter will give us an update about Momo’s group and whether they’ve had any luck with returning her back to her normal size.
