A ‘character-gap’ visual was also released for Lilisa.
Hiroshi Fukuda’s manga series, Rock is a Lady’s Modesty, is getting its much-awaited anime adaptation in Spring 2025, premiering in April. Ahead of its release, The series' official YouTube and X (formerly Twitter) accounts unveiled a new character trailer for the protagonist Lilisa showing off her guitar skills.
After her business tycoon father transfers her to an exclusive academy for girls, Lilisa loses hope of pursuing her dream. With her striking blonde twin ponytails and her refined demeanour, she stands out among her peers. However, her passion for rock refuses to be suppressed.
The trailer highlights that despite her poised and well-behaved nature and her skill with the violin, Lilisa cannot part with her guitar. In an abandoned corner of the school, she reignites her passion for rock alongside Otoha Kurogane, a skilled drummer and the story's deuteragonist. Here, Lilisa pours all her pent-up frustration into her guitar, turning every strum into a defiant cry against the chains of her fate.
Along with the trailer, a character visual was also released, which highlights the stark contrast between Lilisa’s life as a student and her demeanor as a musician.
The main cast has also been announced. Akira Sekine voices Lilisa Suzunomiya (Saki Aoi in Senpai is an Otokonoko, Elfaria Alvis Serfort in Wistoria: Wand and Sword), while Miyuri Shimabukuro takes on the role of Otoha Kurogane (Mei Takanashi in Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night, Inca Kasugaatani in Fire Force).
Produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, the anime series is directed by Shinya Watada with Ōri Yasukawa as the assistant director. Shogo Yasukawa handles the series compisition with Risa Miyadani in charge of character design.
