Rin’s genius goes through another mutation in Blue Lock chapter 289

Rin is able to stop the Kaiser Impact Pass and start to evolve even more.

The game is getting hotter in Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s football manga Blue Lock. The final match of the Neo-Egoist League between Bastard München and Paris X Gen just reached a new height in the latest chapter. Kaiser told Ness to give up on football since a player with no goal and ambition of his own is not a right fit for a match like this. As the match resumes, PXG successfully surrounds Kaiser, leaving Rin to deal with Isagi. However, he delivers a Kaiser Impact pass to Isagi, which is stopped by Rin.

Titled ‘PIG’, the latest chapter begins with Kaiser telling Ness to quit football. Ness declines, saying he is here to make Kaiser the best in the world. Kaiser points out that people are risking their lives to win this match, and it’s not a place for those who live and play for someone else. A pig without autonomy should leave before it’s too late. Ness again says that he has no reason to play if not for Kaiser. Annoyed, Kaiser says that he doesn’t care about Ness anymore as he and Isagi are innovating, and they don’t need a traditionalist pig.

As Kaiser leaves, Isagi realizes that Ness can’t keep up with the rapid changes anymore and he’s in a terrible situation without Kaiser. On the other hand, Rin starts thinking about how he can not only surpass Isagi’s tricks but also destroy him. The match starts again, and Rin immediately goes to Isagi to cover him. On the other side of the field, Kaiser struggles to pass the ball to Isagi as several PXG players surround him. Other Bastard München players rush in to help him, leaving Isagi completely alone with Rin and causing a rift between the team. However, Isagi still manages to rush ahead, and Kaiser says that they’ll be optimal goal machines no matter the circumstances.

Isagi positions himself in front of the goal, and Kaiser correctly estimates his location and plan as everyone looks at him. He then passes the ball toward Isagi with a Kaiser Impact move, causing it to rush through the players and reach its intended recipient. Isagi rushes to the ball and calls their move a perfect new design. However, Rin somehow intercepts the ball and kicks it away. The unbelievable move leaves Isagi and Kaiser dumbfounded, as they can’t understand how he predicted this new move. As the chapter comes to an end, Isagi realizes that the destructive genius inside Rin is mutating once again, giving birth to an even more dangerous monster.

It seems that the final match of the NEL is going to end pretty soon. With only a minute left of the match, Rin’s new transformation could prove to be fatal for Isagi and the rest of Bastard München. If his partnership with Kaiser fails, Isagi will be forced to face off against Rin alone. With the rising stakes, Kaneshiro is pulling the readers more and more toward the edge of their seats. The tension has been portrayed perfectly in the latest chapter.
