  • Hikari Wanda voiced by Hina Yōmiya (Shinju Inui in My Dress-up Darling, Tomori Takamatsu in BanG Dream!)

Studio MADHOUSE (One-Punch Man S1 and 2, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) and Cyclone Graphics (Trillion Games, Bubble) are producing the animation. Michiya Kato (VFX supervisor for Bubble, and CG director for Paprika) is the director of the project.

The Wandance manga by Coffee has been serialised in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon manga since 2019. The story revolves around Kaboku Kotani, a boy who is just starting high school. His plan is to get along with his friends  without drawing too much attention to himself. The reason he wants to stay in the shadows is his stuttering, which can make him a laughingstock for people. But when he sees another first year girl Hikari Wanda dancing like nobody’s watching her, he feels something change within himself. Eager for freedom and for a connection with Wanda, Kotani joins the dance club despite his debilitating anxiety!
