Wind Breaker, Spacewalking with You, How I Met My Soulmate, and many other titles have been nominated for three categories.
The 49th Annual Kodansha Manga Award is almost here. According to the official website of the publisher, the final results will be announced on Monday, 12 May, 2025. There are three categories in the award— Best Shonen Manga, Best Shojo Manga, and Best General Manga. A total of 16 manga titles from Kodansha, Shueisha, KADOKAWA, and Shodensha have been nominated.

In 2024, Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End won the Best Shonen Manga award. Best Shojo Manga award went to I See Your Face, Turned Away by Rumi Ishinose, while Tsurumaikada’s Medalist won in the General category. Other notable titles which have won the award over the year are: Skip and Loafer by Misaki Takamatsu (2023, General), Blue Lock by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura (2021, Shonen), Tokyo Revengers by Ken Wakui (2020, Shonen), My Love Story!! by Kazune Kawahara and Aruko (2013, Shojo), Vinland Saga by Makoto Yukimura (2012, General), and Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama (2011, Shonen).
