The Exiled Reincarnated Heavy Knight Is Unrivaled in Game Knowledge premieres 2026

The announcement also revealed the main cast and staff for the upcoming anime.

The anime adaptation of The Exiled Reincarnated Heavy Knight is Unrivaled in Game Knowledge is coming in 2026! The announcement was made on the anime’s official website, and on Shochiku Anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday (19 March). Along with the announcement, a second teaser was also shared on X and on YouTube:

Second teaser introduces Elymas, Luce, and Maris

The second teaser featured Elymas Edvan, who was reincarnated into the online VR game Magic World, where he was banished for manifesting a commonly known “defective class” as a Heavy Knight. However, it also showed that he was able to open a virtual screen resembling the game’s system. The trailer introduced two other characters, Luce Rubis and Maris Edvan.

Cast members and staff lineup announced

  • Elymas Edvan voiced by Takeo Otsuka (Aqua Hoshino in Oshi no Ko)
  • Luce Rubis voiced by Shion Wakayama (Momo Ayase in DAN DA DAN)
  • Maris Edvan voiced by Natsuko Abe (Nya Nia in Tower of God)

The main staff for the project has been revealed, with Shingo Suzuki serving as general director, while Tetsukazu Yamagishi takes on the role of chief director and Katsumasa Yokomine directs. Character design is handled by Takayuki Uchida, who also shares chief animation director duties alongside Keiji Tani and Makoto Furuta. Hiroshi Okubo leads as the main animator, while Enji Nakajima and Tetsuya Gunji oversee sound direction. The series’ music is composed by Ludvig Forssell (Death Stranding). Japanese studio GoHands will be in charge of the animation.

The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System is adapted from the light novel by Nekoko, with illustrations by Jaian. Kodansha publishes the official English version of Brocco Lee’s manga adaptation, which follows Elymas, a young man destined to continue his family's legacy as master swordsmen.

However, when the Ritual of Divine Blessing assigns him the seemingly weak Heavy Knight class, he is cast out and deemed a failure. What no one realises is that this world mirrors the game he played in his past life, where the Heavy Knight is actually the strongest class. With this knowledge, Elymas sets out to defy expectations and carve his own path to power.
