The upcoming game-night event will have collaboration merchandise, artwork, and more.
The Los Angeles Lakers have just released a One Piece collab artwork on their official X (formerly Twitter) page. The illustration is to commemorate their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Clippers, which will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Crypto.com arena. The latest visual features the Straw Hats wearing the LA Lakers jersey and playing basketball. This legendary collaboration was first announced in December 2024.
This event will include a lot of One Piece themed activities and merchandise for fans who attend the game. There will be an exclusive first look at Straw Hats leader Monkey D. Luffy playing basketball, as well as a ‘Bounty Rush’ photo booth experience where fans can take pictures. The merchandise includes One Piece x Lakers artwork, t-shirt, and poster. Some lucky fans will also be able to participate in One Piece-themed games and win prizes.
As fans may already know, One Piece by Eiichiro Oda is one of the greatest anime franchises in history. It’s still ongoing with more than 1100 chapters in the manga and 21 seasons in the anime. Previously, we saw a lot of One Piece collabs with massive brands. The One Piece card game and mobile game are also extremely popular among fans. With the collaboration with an NBA team, One Piece will likely open up the avenue for more anime to collab with other sports teams in the USA.
