The epilogue will feature a newly-drawn story for fan-beloved characters by Gege Akutami.
The final volume of Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen will have a new 16-page story, as announced in Jump Festa 25. The epilogue will feature new stories featuring four characters: Yuko Ozawa, Panda, Nobara Kugisaki, and Uraume.
The anime of Jujutsu Kaisen also revealed a teaser image for its upcoming adaptation of the Culling Game arc. The visual featured Yuji Itadori and the logo of the new sequel.
Besides the epilogue, the final volume of Jujutsu Kaisen will also have newly-drawn illustrations by the author, which the publisher deemed “significant." The final volume of Gege Akutami's seven-year manga will scheduled to release in December 25, 2024.
The epilogue was made to tie up loose ends and offer extra context on what happened to other characters, after the defeat of Sukuna. While the weekly manga's final chapter was released in September 2024, many fans felt the ending was a bit rushed as a lot of characters' fates were not elaborated on in the chapter.
The ending seemed lackluster, as it only explained the outcome of many characters' lives briefly. We'll elaborate briefly on the manga's ending here, but beware of spoilers ahead if you've been sticking to the anime exclusively!
The ending showed a new curse user that was taken in by Yuji Itadori. The protagonist then remembered what his teacher, Gojo Satoru, passed on to him: how to raise the next generation right. We didn't learn what happened to characters like Panda, among others. We only know that they continued to live normal lives.
The final volume of Jujutsu Kaisen will be released in December 25, 2025 alongside a new epilogue featuring many other characters.
