On February 4, 2025, it was revealed that Kyōsuke Nishiki’s popular comedy manga Vampire-chan Can’t Suck Properly (Chanto Suenai Kyūketsuki-chan) will be receiving an anime adaptation. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime announced that the series will start airing sometime in 2025, although a definitive release date was not revealed. Along with this news, a teaser illustration and details about the main cast were also posted on the account.
As per the announcement, the main cast of the series will include
- Minami Tanaka (Pursena Adoldia in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and Mary Saotome in Kakegurui) as Luna Ishikawa.
- Kensho Ono (Ryonosuke Akutagawa in Bungo Stray Dogs and Kuroko Tetsuya in Kuroko’s Basketball) as Tatsuta Ōtori.
The X account revealed the illustrations for both of these characters, as well as a special teaser visual of Luna. It was also announced that the series will be produced by Feel and directed by Sayaka Yamai. Yuniko Ayana will be in charge of the scripts and Takuya Tani is handling the character designs.
The story of Kyōsuke Nishiki’s manga revolves around Luna Ishikawa, a beautiful and popular high-school girl who’s known for being mysterious. However, Luna is actually a vampire, but she is annoyed because she can’t suck blood properly. After learning her secret and her problem, Luna’s classmate Tatsuta Ōtori offers to teach her how to suck blood, in exchange for her sucking his blood.
