We have great news for all shojo fans. Hisaya Nakajo’s popular romance manga, Hana Kimi: For You in Full Bloom, is all set to be adapted into an anime two decades after its initial release. Previously, the manga has been adapted into live-action dramas across several countries. On February 5, 2025, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime announced the three main cast members who will be voicing the central characters in the show.
According to the announcement, the protagonist of the series, Mizuki Ashiya, will be voiced by Aya Yamane (Liliana Masquerade in Re:Zero and Reynard Hizuki Yamada in Demon Lord 2099). The male lead of the series, Izumi Sano, will be voiced by Taku Yashiro (Keiji Togashi in Aoashi and Spitz Feier in Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions). Finally, the second male lead of the anime, Shūichi Nakatsu is set to be played by Kikunosuke Toya (Denji in Chainsaw Man and Chōji Tomiyama in Wind Breaker).
The upcoming anime will be available to watch globally on Crunchyroll. The latest trailer for the show featured the three new voice actors and the three characters they’ll be playing. The story of the manga revolves around a track-and-field athlete named Mizuki Ashiya, a Japanese-American girl who idolises the Japanese high jump star Izumi Sano. Mizuki leaves America behind to go to Japan and enroll in the same high school as Izumi. However, Izumi attends an all-boys school, and Mizuki has to pretend to be a boy in front of her idol and all their classmates. Things turn out to be more complicated when Mizuki starts living in the dorm with Izumi as her roommate.
