The Anne of Green Gables anime adaptation is set to broadcast on 25 April.
‘Anne Shirley’ has revealed a new trailer, key visual, and additional staff for the anime, which is set to run for 24 episodes. The anime is scheduled for 25 April, 2025, and will air on NHK Educational TV every Saturday.
Based on the 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery titled Anne of Green Gables, Anne Shirley recounts the adventures of the titular 11-year-old orphan protagonist. Sent to two middle-aged siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert by mistake, Anne is set to assist the Cuthberts in their farm, all while navigating her way through life alongside her peers and neighbours in the fictional and picturesque town of Avonlea in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
The official voice cast was announced previously and is as follows:

- Marilla Cuthbert - Aya Nakamura
- Matthew Cuthbert - Yasunori Matsumoto
- Gilbert Blythe - Miyase Naoya
- Diana Burley - Yume Miyamoto
Hiroshi Kawamata was previously revealed as the anime’s director, with Kenichi Tsuchiya as character designer. The rest of the staff include Tadashi Kudo (Blade of the Immortal, Dokkoida?!) as art director, Shiho Kuryoki for Color Design, Shinji Saito (I Want To Eat Your Pancreas, Sailor Moon Crystal) as Director of Photography, and Kisuke Koizumi (Aishiteruze Baby, BOFURI) as Sound Director. Michiru Oshima (Patema Inverted, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S is in charge of the series’s music.
