After waiting for a decade, fans are happy to see this beloved original anime get new material.

The upcoming Aldnoah.Zero (Re+), a compilation movie of the anime, just revealed an exciting new trailer. A brand-new key illustration of Inaho, Slaine, and Princess Asseylum was also posted on the official X (formerly Twitter) account. The original anime came out over a decade ago in 2014, with a second season following in 2015. It was written by Gen Urobuchi and directed by Ei Aoki with TROYCA Animation Studio, and A-1 Pictures producing it. Fans are thrilled to see the show’s compilation movie be released in 2025.

The Aldnoah.Zero (Re+) movie will be broadcast in Japanese theatres on Friday, February 28, 2025. The latest trailer highlights some really exciting clashes between the high-tech battleships of the Terrans and the Vers. Fans are excited about the release as it will have some new footage as well as materials from the old series. In the original anime, the protagonist Inaho Kaizuka was voiced by Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer, Okarun in Dandadan). Princess Asseylum was played by Sora Amamiya (Akame in Akame Ga Kill! and Chizuru Mizhara in Rent-A-Girlfriend) and the antagonist Slaine Troyard was voiced by Kensho Ōno (Akutagawa in Bungo Stray Dogs and Tetsuya Kuroko in Kuroko’s Basketball).

The story of this anime takes place in an alternate Earth where some humans colonize Mars and wage war on Earth, which takes place on the Moon. During the war, the Moon is destroyed and becomes a debris belt around Earth. Since the Martians, known as Ver, can’t go back to their planet, they start living in the debris belt. Years later, a Martian Princess Asseylum is attacked while visiting Earth, prompting the Vers to wage war on the Terrans (Earth dwellers). The protagonist Inaho is a high schooler who is a brilliant war strategist and joins the battle to defeat their enemies once and for all. Filled to the brim with battleship wars and hand-to-hand combat, the series is nothing short of breathtaking. You can watch the original anime series on Crunchyroll right now.
