Gawr Gura has announced her graduation from Hololive due to a disagreement with the company's direction.
Gawr Gura has announced her graduation from Hololive today, 16 April. She notes the reason for her departure as being caused by a disagreement with Cover Corp.'s direction. Her last date with the company will be on 1 May 2025 Japan Standard Time.
Gawr Gura revealed her graduation on a livestream, and thanked her fans and everyone who supported her. She also thanked all the artists who created any content about her, including cosplay, fan art, clips, and more.
Gura's last message to her fans during her announcement was, “Thank you, everyone, for letting me be your little shark.”
Hololive has also announced her graduation with a post on its social media accounts and corporate news on its website. The company said that Gura has touched the heart of fans around the world since her debut as a member of Hololive English -Myth- five years ago. They also said that she has become a beloved face of VTubing in its early stages and played an instrumental role in the growth of Hololive Production.
Hololive will provide separate announcements about merchandise related to Gawr Gura through the Hololive Production Official Shop.
Before the announcement, Gawr Gura's last piece of content was a collaboration with DYES IWASAKI (from FAKE TYPE), where she sang the real version of “GIVE UP”. Her last stream before the announcement was a R.E.P.O playthrough with Ouro Kronii, Takanashi Kiara, and Raora Panthera.
Gawr Gura is yet another Vtuber under Hololive that's graduating this 2025. Murasaki Shion is graduating on 26 April, while Nanashi Mumei is set to graduate this 28 April. Ceres Fauna graduated last 3 January.
