Will Solo Leveling have a Season 3?

Fans of Solo Leveling may have to wait a bit longer for an official announcement.

The anime adaptation of Solo Leveling Season 2 just ended, and while the finale felt like a satisfying way to wrap up a season, fans seem to want more, especially after the teasers in the 25th episode.

However, it looks like fans might need to hang on for a bit, because Season 3 is yet to be confirmed. In a video feature by Crunchyroll, Solo Leveling animation producer Atsushi Kaneko said that he does not know what the future will be and that he is unsure whether the anime will continue or not.

The chances of Solo Leveling returning for Season 3 are very high

Kaneko expresses optimism that, with enough support and encouragement, the anime has a strong chance of returning. He personally hopes for a third season and urges fans to look forward to the finale. Given his remarks about the dedication of the entire A-1 Pictures staff in bringing Solo Leveling Season 2's finale to life, it's clear why he holds such high expectations. While production delays or unforeseen challenges can impact any anime project, A-1's efforts have significantly boosted the likelihood of a third season.

Season 2 has continued to set impressive records, further cementing its prominence in the anime community. The season's premiere amassed 129,000 likes on Crunchyroll within 24 hours, surpassing the previous record held by Season 1's premiere, which took nearly two days to reach 114,000 likes. Episode 6 set another milestone by achieving 100,000 likes in just seven hours and 13 minutes, breaking the prior record set by the Season 2 premiere, which reached the same milestone in 11 hours. Additionally, with over 400,000 reviews, the series has become one of the highest-rated anime on Crunchyroll, reflecting its widespread acclaim and viewer engagement.

On IMDB, the second season has had a consistent rating of at least 8.3, with the 24th episode, Are You the King of the Humans, getting a 9.8 out of 10.

Given the amount of support and the amount of content to cover, it’s likely that Solo Leveling will come back for Season 3. For now, though, fans might want to read the webtoon or the light novel to get their weekly adrenaline dose.
