AnimeJapan 2025 has kicked off! Here are all the announcements, including new trailers and visuals, that were revealed for day one.
AnimeJapan is known as one of the largest anime-related consumer showcase conventions globally, which many broadcasters, producers, and studios participate in to update fans on industry happenings. And with the 2025 iteration in full sprint, a lot of announcements have been made about a lot of upcoming titles! The event is taking place at Tokyo from 22 to 23 March, and here’s what has been revealed so far for day one:
Chitose is in the Ramune Bottle
The upcoming romantic-comedy anime adaptation, Chitose is in the Ramune Bottle, based on a series of light novels by Hiromu and raemz, has revealed a new ultra teaser promotional video. The series is set to air sometime in 2025, although no official date has been announced as of yet. The anime is being produced by studio feel.
Devil May Cry
The upcoming Netflix anime adaptation of the hit game Devil May Cry has revealed the Japanese voice cast for the series. Toshiyuki Morikawa is set to voice Dante, Fumiko Orikasa is taking on the role of Mary, and Hiroaki Hirata is voicing Vergil. The anime is streaming exclusively on Netflix starting 3 April, 2025.
Kaiju No.8 Season 2
The hit monster action series Kaiju No.8 has released a new trailer showcasing what viewers can expect for the second season. The show is slated to release in July, and will be streamed through Crunchyroll.
Kowloon Generic Romance
The sci-fi romance anime Kowloon Generic Romance is revealed to be a complete adaptation of its manga source material, which is still currently ongoing. The series will have a total of 13 episodes, and will begin broadcasting on 5 April, with ARVO ANIMATION producing. Excerpts for the first episode has also been featured on the anime's offical X (formerly Twitter) account.
Moonrise
The upcoming Netflix exclusive anime titled Moonrise has revealed its theme song, performed by AiNA THE END: Daijoubu. The song featured in a trailer details what to expect from the series, which is set to air on 10 April, 2025. Netflix also revealed the supporting cast, with AiNA THE END taking on the role of Mary, Misaki Yamada as Rhys Rochelle, Katsunori Okai as Georg Landry, among others.
My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON
The eighth and final season of hit action shounen anime My Hero Academia has revealed a super teaser promotional video, in anticipation of its release. The video features main character Izuku Midoriya and primary antagonist Shigaraki Tomura. The anime is set to premiere October 2025, and will be available through Crunchyroll.
New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT
The 2010 comedy anime by now-defunct studio Gainax is finally getting its long-awaited sequel season! Titled New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT, the anime project is now being produced by Studio Trigger, with Hiroyuki Imaishi slated as producer. Two new characters have been introduced through an official promotional video: Polyester, who is voiced by Junya Enoki, and Polyurethane, voiced by Yuto Uemura. The series is coming out sometime in July as an Original Net Animation (ONA), although no official date has been revealed as of yet.
Oshi no Ko Season 3
The third season for hit idol thriller mystery series Oshi no Ko has revealed a new teaser visual and promotional video, this time showcasing male lead character Aqua Hoshino. The season is set to air sometime in 2026.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht Rising-
The upcoming Madoka Magica movie has revealed the first key visual featuring the two main characters Madoka and Homura. The movie is set to air sometime in Winter 2025, after being delayed from its original Winter 2024 screening. Shaft is animating the movie.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus
The continuation to the Rascal Does Not Dream series, titled Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, has been confirmed to start airing this July 2025, although no official date has been revealed. The series marks the start of the University Arc, and the trailer revealed the opening theme song, which is Snowdrop by Conton Candy.
Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 4
Rent-a-Girlfriend revealed a new trailer for its upcoming Season 4, which is scheduled to broadcast in July 2025, although no official date has been announced as of yet. The season is set to be split into two cours, and will focus on the Hawaii Arc.
The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity
The long-awaited slice-of-life romance anime has revealed a new trailer which introduces the main cast, and also revealed its broadcast window: July 2025! Yoshinori Nakayama is taking on the role of Rintaro Tsumugi, with Inoue Honoka as Kaoruko Waguri. Toya Kikunosuke is voicing Shohei Usami, Koki Uchiyama as Saku Natsuzawa, Hiiro Ishibashi as Ayato Yorita, and Aya Yamane as Subaru Hoshina. Cloverworks is producing the series.
The Summer Hikaru Died
The upcoming Netflix-exclusive horror anime The Summer Hikaru Died has revealed its first official trailer which features the ending theme song for the show: you are my monster performed by TOOBOE. The anime is set to release sometime in 2025, although no exact release date has been confirmed as of yet. Additional cast has also been revealed, with Yumiri Hanamori as Asako Yamagishi, Wakana Kowaka as Rie Kurebayashi, and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Tanaka.
Tokyo Revengers: War of the Three Titans Arc*

The previously announced sequel anime to Tokyo Revengers has revealed a new teaser visual and staff excerpt. No broadcast date has been confirmed.
Tougen Anki
The dark battle action anime Tougen Anki has revealed a second official trailer featuring snippets of the action that fans can look forward to. The anime is set to air July 2025, with Nonako Ato directing at animation studio Hibari. Voice actor Ryouhei Kimura has also been announced to take on the role of Kyouya Oiranzaka.
Wind Breaker Season 2
The second season of Wind Breaker has revealed new cast members ahead of its 3 April release. Soma Saito is set to voice Seiryu Sakaki, while Kazuki Ura is taking on the role of Uryu Sakaki. The series is set to premiere on Crunchyroll.
