Major League Baseball recently announced a collaboration with Demon Slayer.
After announcing a collaboration with Demon Slayer, Major League Baseball (MLB) surprised fans with a short film animated by the animation studio ufotable, while also hinting at merchandise revolving around the collaboration that is set to be revealed soon.
Ufotable animated a short film that depicts the evolution of Japanese baseball
Major League Baseball unveiled a two-minute promotional short film produced by ufotable, which features the evolution of Japanese baseball, featuring cameo appearances by baseball superstars Shohei Ohtani, Shota Imanaga, among others, as well as beloved characters from the Demon Slayer anime. The short incorporated the breathing styles that feature prominently in the anime.
The MLB x Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba collaboration is centred around the upcoming Major League Baseball Tokyo Series, which will be held on 18 March, 2025 at the Tokyo Dome. The game will feature 2024 World Series champions, the LA Dodgers, facing off against the Chicago Cubs for season-opening games. The upcoming series will feature a number of Japanese baseball stars, including Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Roki Sasaki from the Dodgers, and Seiya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga from the Cubs.
Demon Slayer’s on a roll this month. Besides collaborating with Major League Baseball, the anime franchise has unveiled the domestic and global screening dates for its upcoming movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, as well as a launch date for a new Demon Slayer video game, titled Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2.
