Popular Yuri (girl’s love) fantasy thriller manga Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai (I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day) by Aono Nachi is set to receive a TV anime adaptation, which has been revealed to be produced by ROLL2.
The news came with a special promotional teaser, as well as a promotional visual to commemorate the event.
KimiShinu main cast and staff
The main cast for the KimiShinu anime will feature the same cast members who appeared in the promotional video commemorating the release of the manga. Totsuki Sheena will be voiced by Rie Takahashi (Ai Hoshino in Oshi no Ko, Tomo Aizawa in Tomo-chan is a Girl!), Kagari Mimi will be voiced by Hidaka Rina (Yawika in Ishura, Eru Aharen in Aharen-san wa Hakarenai), Lizzy Seiran will be voiced by Seto Asami (Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen, Mina Ashiro in Kaiju No.8), and Maud Ali will be voiced by Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan, 2B in Nier: Automata Ver.1.1a).
The anime will be produced by Infinite, with production headed by studio ROLL2 and product support from EVOLROAR. Kakuchi Takudai is slated as director, with Tomoda Yasushi acting as assistant editor. The series composition and scripts will be done by Hanada Jukki, featuring character designs from Yufu Kyoko, and music from Hashimoto Yukari.
KimiShinu plot and other details
KimiShinu’s manga first came out in August 2018, and was serialised in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime until January 2020. An English-language release has been licensed by Kodansha USA in North America, and officially describes the story as:
Death lurks behind a mysterious orphanage where children train to become magical weapons of war. Among them is Sheena, who longs to stop the fighting and end the conflict. On one gruesome night, Sheena meets a strange girl covered in blood, with a smile on her face. The mysterious girl turns out to be a secret weapon—an immortal child soldier named Mimi. When the two become roommates, there is growing tension and attraction. How will the peace-loving Sheena live with someone who welcomes death?
