Two new voice actors will also be introduced in the movie.
Ahead of its April 2025 release, the Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback anime movie just revealed a new trailer and visual. The official website of the movie, as well as its X (formerly Twitter) account just revealed more details about the upcoming film. Not only is a new character being introduced in the film, but an old character is also getting a new voice.

The trailer, touted ‘NON SLEEPING PROMOTION’ after the previously released ‘SLEEPING PROMOTION’, features many characters from the series. Fans got to hear the voice of Hiroaki Hirata (Genma Shirauni in Naruto and Terada Tatsugoro in Gintama) as Wani, a former colleague of Kogoro Mori. Moreover, Takeshi Kusao (Hanamichi Sakuragi in Slam Dunk and Trunks in Dragon Ball Z), who will be replacing Toru Furuya as Toru Amuro / Rei Furuya in the film, was also featured in the video.
Based on Gosho Aoyama's original manga, the 28th feature film in the Case Closed franchise will open in Japanese theaters on 18 April, 2025. Under TMS Entertainment, the film is being directed by Katsuya Shigehara. Takeharu Sakurai is in charge of the scripts. Both of them have previously worked on Detective Conan films.
Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback story and other details
As per the official website of the movie, the story synopsis, through a machine translation, begins at Mt. Miho in the Yatsugatake mountain range, in Nagano Prefecture. A police officer named Kansuke Yamato was suddenly shot by a mysterious figure. The shot causes a massive avalanche, and although Kansuke lives, he loses an eye. A few months later, when Kansuke and Yui Uehara hear about a terror attack at the the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan in Nobeyama, they rush to the scene. However, things start going awry when a massive antenna in the observatory starts moving and Kansuke’s eye starts to hurt.
On the same night, detective Kogori Mouri gets a call from his former colleague Wani. He tells him about the avalanche in which Kansuke was involved and how Kogori’s name was in the files. Conan follows Kogori when he goes to meet Wani, but another gunshot is heard. The trailer shows Kogori waking up after the SLEEPING PROMOTION. It also ups the stakes for Conan and Kogori who seem to be fighting against a dangerous opponent this time around.
