The spin-off series will air in April 2026.
The long-awaited Uma Musume spin-off anime project, Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray, has finally revealed its release date. As per the announcement on the official X (formerly Twitter) of the anime, the series will debut in Japan on 6 April, 2025. A brand new trailer was also unveiled, which features the opening theme song of the show ‘Koeru’ performed by [Alexandros]. Four new voice actors were also cast in different roles.
As per the announcement, the new cast members of the anime are:
- Hochu Otsuka (Jiraiya in Naruto and Hakuro in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as Ginjirou Musaka
- Ayano Shibuya (Lala in Oshi no Ko and Maidena Ange in Immoral Guild) as Norn Ace
- Yo Taichi (Akane Sawatari in Chainsaw Man and Guideu in The Witch and the Beast) as Rudy Lemono
- Shiori Izawa (Nanachi in Made in Abyss and Sakura in Don’t Toy with Me Miss Nagatoro) as Mini the Lady
A brand new teaser visual featuring Oguri Cap, Fujimasa March, Berno Light, and Joe Kitahara was also released. The high-energy trailer has gotten everyone excited for the upcoming anime. Produced by Cygames Pictures, the series is being directed by Yuki Ito. The series composition is being done by Aki Kindaichi while Takuya Miyahara and Keisuke Sasaki are in charge of character designs. As per a previous announcement, the anime will air in two cours.
Uma Masume: Cinderella Gray, is a spin-off project of the original game Uma Musume Pretty Derby, which later got a popular anime adaptation spanning three seasons. Many other anime and manga adaptations of the game have also been released. The Uma Masume: Cinderella Gray manga is currently being serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine.
The story follows Orguri Cap, who is a horse girl. However, her wild style of racing has caused many of her peers to call her a monster. Despite that, Oguri Cap is determined to become the best racing horse girl at the Kasamatsu Training Center Academy, where she and other girls train.
