The long-awaited Devil May Cry animated series finally has a release date! On Friday, January 31, 2025, the official Netflix and Netflix Anime X (formerly Twitter) account announced that the series, which is based on the game of the same name, is coming out on April 3, 2025. Fans will be able to stream the series exclusively on Netflix once it airs. The series is based on a Japanese game franchise of the same name by Capcom. The show is being produced by Studio Mir, who has also worked on projects such as The Legend of Korra, X-Men ‘97, and Skull Island. Adi Shankar is the creator of this series, and he has previously developed the Castlevania series, as well as The Guardians of Justice, and Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. Other staff details have been kept under wraps, as have any possible plot for the show.
The only cast member that has been announced as of yet is Johnny Yong Bosch, who will be voicing the main character Dante. In the game’s English version, Bosch voices Nick while Reuben Langdon voices Dante. However, the show’s producers wanted Bosch to give voice to Dante in the series, although they haven’t revealed why. More details about the show will likely be revealed soon.
