Ryu Nakayama won the hearts of millions of people through his work in Chainsaw Man, and now he’s determined to do the same with his next project. Surprisingly, the director’s upcoming work is not an anime but rather a Roblox horror game titled ‘The Inn’. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the game released a short trailer and the director shared the news excitedly with his fans.
Ryu Nakayama’s work in Chainsaw Man is monumental
The Inn is set in a haunted Japanese inn. The trailer for the roguelite looks pretty great and fans are also excited to play it soon. Unfortunately, a release date for the game is yet to be disclosed. Nakayama announced the news on his own X (formerly Twitter) account, saying that it’s his first time working on a game. The director also urged the fans to check out the game once it's released. He’s creating the game with Studio Mayflower, a company which appointed him as its Chief Creative Officer in 2024. After looking at the trailer and his work in CSM, people are excited to see what The Inn brings to the horror game table.
The director has previously worked on projects such as Jujutsu Kaisen and The Rising of the Shield Hero. However, Chainsaw Man was his directorial debut and he wowed the world with his fantastic work. MAPPA’s adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga was lauded by many fans due to its amazing animation, storyboarding, and character design. The audience are hoping that Nakayama will be back at the director’s seat for Chainsaw Man Season 2. Unfortunately his absence from the upcoming Reze movie doesn’t point toward his return. No details about a possible Chainsaw Man Season 2 is available as of yet.
