The author addressed the rumours going around about a second season.
Days with My Stepsister was undoubtedly one of the most popular romance anime series of 2024. A few days ago, rumours started to circulate online about a possible second season. However, the creator of the original mixed-media project Ghost Mikawa confirmed that season 2 of the anime hasn’t been green-lit yet. Unfortunately, the unfounded reports started to circulate due to Mikawa’s announcement about a new project regarding Days with My Stepsister.
Days with My Stepsister Season 2 is yet to be confirmed
The author of the novel series, Ghost Mikawa said on 2 April, 2025, that while scrolling on social media they came across a post regarding the anime’s season 2 and wanted to clarify things with fans. The author apologised for causing confusion with their previous post and said that she and her company aren’t the only ones making decisions about a sequel anime. She asked fans for their continued support despite the unhappy news.
The confusion originally stemmed from another X post by the author, where they announced their new joining as Executive Officer at Tailpot Co. Ltd. The post also mentioned that there will be news regarding two different projects on 2 and 5 April, and one of them will be related to Days with My Stepsister. However, a possible second season was never mentioned in the posts.
On 2 April, the author revealed an anime brand called Happy Jack, which will create short-form anime content for platforms such as TikTok and YouTube. The company’s first light anime project, Do-man Bu! is available to watch on the Happy Jack YouTube channel. The 5 April announcement was about Mellowvoice, an all-ages ASMR brand. Two Days With My Stepsister ASMR stories will be released on 5 May and 11 May, containing 80 minutes of content each. Fans can buy the stories through DLsite.
Unfortunately, none of these announcements were about Days with My Stepsister Season 2, which has left fans of the anime heartbroken.
