Sydney Sweeney is reportedly in final talks to appear in the live-action adaptation of Gundam from Legendary.
Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in Euphoria and Madame Web, was reportedly in final negotiations to star in Legendary Entertainment’s upcoming live-action Mobile Suit Gundam movie. The film is co-developed by Legendary Entertainment and Bandai Namco Filmworks. Details on Sweeney's part and the film's plot are still unknown.
Legendary first announced its plans for a live-action adaptation in 2021, with Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts initially attached to the project. However, the film has since undergone changes, with Sweet Tooth showrunner Jim Mickle now set to write and direct. Mickle will also produce the film alongside Linda Moran through their production company, Nightshade.
The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, originally created by Yoshiyuki Tomino in 1979, has been a cornerstone of the mecha genre, spanning anime series, films, novels, and video games.
