The anime is set to air in July 2025.
The upcoming anime series, With You and the Rain, has just revealed some more details. Previously the main cast of the show were introduced. On 17 March, 2025, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the show revealed six new voice actors who will be joining the project. Additionally, it was announced that the series will be airing in July 2025, although a definitive date hasn’t been revealed yet.
With You and the Rain cast and staff details
The new voice actors for the series are:
- You (Kimi) voiced by Anna Mugiho (Chibi and Manmaru in Love Live! Superstar!! 2nd Season)
- Tatsuo voiced by Yōji Ueda (Drive Knight in One-Punch Man and Eisen in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End)
- Michiko voiced by Mie Sonozaki (Nana Shimura in My Hero Academia and Violet in One Piece)
- Teru voiced by Kikunosuke Toya (Denji in Chainsaw Man and Chōji Tomiyama in Wind Breaker)
- Wako voiced by Yumiri Hanamori (Daemon in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Nadeshiko Kagamihara in Laid-Back Camp)
- Veterinarian voiced by Chafurin (Liang Xing Long in Dragon Ball GT and Inspector Jūzō Megure in Detective Conan series
Previously, the main cast members of the series were also revealed. This includes:
- Fuji voiced by Saori Hayami (Fubuki in One-Punch Man and Yor Forger in Spy x Family)
- Mimi voiced by Yuna Kamakura (Satoko Sasaki in Sasaki and Miyano and Manami Mitama in A Centaur's Life)
- Ren voiced by Satomi Sato (Eru Chitanda in Hyouka and Saki Hanajima in Fruits Basket)
- Kii Ella Krause voiced by Yuzu Yumoto (Platelet in Cells at Work!)
Lespirit is producing the anime with Tomohiro Tsukimisato in charge of direction. Touko Machida is penning the scripts and Ayano Ōwada is designing the characters.
With You and the Rain story and other details
The anime series is based on the original manga by Ko Nikaido. It has been serialised in the Weekly Young Magazine by Kodansha since August 2024. The author has previously worked on multiple other manga series including Hime no Dameshi and Say Thank You: Collected Short Stories.
The story of With You and the Rain revolves around a woman who comes across a strange dog-like creature on a rainy day. After the animal pleads with her to be taken in, she lets it into her home and her life. Their co-existence changes a lot of things in the woman’s life as the animal’s clever nature continues to intrigue her.
