The new Demon Slayer video game launches this August.
Sega has officially announced a release date for Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2: 5 August, 2025. The arena fighter picks up where the first Hinokami Chronicles game left off, adapting the events of the anime series’ Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 unveils release date
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is an arena fighting game that allows players to play through the events of Season 2 through 4 of the anime, starting from the Entertainment District Arc. Players will be able to select from a variety of new playable characters in VS mode, including Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji.
In fact, all nine Hashira are available to play in this game, from the Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka to the Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro. The game will launch on 5 August this year, but anyone who pre-orders the Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to play the game five days early on 1 August. Anyone who played the first Hinokami Chronicles game or Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! on the same platform can also transfer their save data to this sequel. Porting over save data from The Hinokami Chronicles will get players six Kimetsu Academy Character Unlock Keys, giving them access to Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Shinobu Kocho, and Giyu Tomioka.
Porting over save data for Sweep the Board! will also give them access to a character unlock key for Hinatsuru, Makio, and Suma (who make up a single playable character), and three battle attire costumes – Hinatsuru (Meal Prep), Makio (Meal Prep), and Suma (Meal Prep).
As for the anime, its next installment is set to grace theaters this summer. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle will premiere in Japan on 18 July, 2025.
