My Love Story!!

Number of episodes: 12

When it comes to shoujo romances, the main lead is always someone who’s handsome, slender, and a total ikemen, but what about the tall, burly types? Those who are awkward and clueless about romance? When do they get their turn?

In My Love Story!!, Gouda Takeo is the total opposite of the typical pretty boy protagonist. He’s big, he’s burly, and he’s never had much luck with women. People tend to shy away from him due to his appearance and his intimidating presence. However, after a fateful meeting with a girl named Rinko Yamato, whom he saves from a lecher in the train, it seems like the spring of his youth has finally come.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten

Number of episodes: 12

Amane Fujiyama is a lonely highschool boy who’s generally quiet and withdrawn, as he lives alone in an apartment. He’s disinterested in the outside world and has many reservations about relationships and friendships.

A chance encounter with Mahiru Shiina, his school’s most popular “angel,” however, finds him breaking down his walls as she ends up being his next-door neighbor! The two, who find kinship in being awkward and lonely, build up a wholesome friendship that turns into something more. Will romance blossom as they close the distance between each other? (The answer is yes.)

Tomo-Chan is a Girl!

Number of episodes: 12

Tomo isn’t a typical highschool girl. She’s tall, strong, incredibly sporty, and girls fall for her prince-like attitude left and right. But the thing is, Tomo’s been harboring feelings for her childhood friend Junichiro Kubota for the longest time, and he just can’t seem to catch on!

Now, Tomo must do whatever it takes to get him to see her as more than “one of the boys,” but will Jun ever realise her feelings for him? Or will every attempt she makes end up as a hilarious failure or fistfight? Who knows? You will, when you watch the show!

Insomniacs After School

Number of episodes: 12

In a small town, highschooler Ganta Nakami struggles with the sleep disorder insomnia. It’s gotten so bad that he sometimes ends up sleeping in school. In one of his attempts to catch a few moments of rest at the school’s abandoned observatory, Nakami ends up stumbling upon the sleeping figure of the sociable and popular Isaki Magari.

Magari also struggles with insomnia, but keeps it a secret from her friends. Striking a deal to help each other take naps in school, the two form an awkward friendship built upon reestablishing their school’s defunct astronomy club. As they spend their sleepless nights learning about the stars, romance slowly but surely blossoms between the two.
