Journey Home After School plot and other details
Journey Home After School is a manga by Mai Matsuda, and began serialisation in August 2023 in the magazine Manga Action by Futabasha. The series has four volumes as of March 2025.
The plot, according to ComicNatalie, in a machine translation is as follows:
The protagonist, Shun, was a famous soccer player in middle school, but due to an injury he can no longer play soccer or do any sports at all. Even after entering high school, he gets fed up with constantly refusing invitations to join various clubs, and accidentally blurts out that he wants to go home. A female student overhears his words and invites Shun to join a mysterious club called the Hyper Homecoming Club. The girl who calls out to him is Naoki, a girl who always wants to go home and whose catchphrase is "I want to go home", and who has been nicknamed "Naokaeri-chan." Shun is suspicious of her, but ends up going home with Naoki, who is waiting for him at the school gate... This is a romantic comedy in which Shun and Naoki enjoy their way home, where romance that can't be found at home or at school rolls around.
As of now, the manga is still yet to get an official English licensing release, however it has found a dedicated fanbase in Japan.
