Someone from Lu’s mafia family is hell-bent on taking her back.
The latest episode of the Sakamoto Days anime was a nice break after some really intense action-focused issues. But that doesn’t mean it was entertaining! Sakamoto and Shin’s short adventure at a deadly bathhouse was hilarious, especially how nonchalant the protagonist was about it. The second half of the episode introduced a new character, who is determined to take Lu back into her mafia family.
Spoiler Alert: This article contains massive spoilers from the anime.
Bathhouse or deathtrap?

After hearing Shin and Lu’s complaints about body pain, Sakamoto takes the whole family to a bathhouse. But the man working the register recognises him as he’s an amateur hitman. After that, he tries to kill Sakamoto in many ways, but ultimately doesn’t succeed. Unlike all the other hitmen who attacked head-on, it was refreshing to see someone take another route. The bathhouse attendant caused an explosion in the pool, overheated the sauna, froze the cooling water, and even maximised the pressure of the waterfall. All of this ended hysterically as Shin continuously suffered while Sakamoto enjoyed the extra pressure on his massive body.
After Shin passes out and they come out of the bathing space, the attendant realises how powerful Sakamoto is. He’s then attacked by some other hitmen, who bully him. Sakamoto takes care of them, showing that he knew the attendant’s intentions all along. It was a sweet moment to see the man accept his weakness and call his father to say he wants to inherit the bathhouse. Despite being filler content, the first half of the episode was comical and entertaining. It was refreshing to see the family out and about instead of fighting dangerous criminals.
Lu Wutang wants Lu Shaotang to be a mafia boss

The second episode of Sakamoto Days introduced us to the lively and strong Lu Shaotang. She’s the daughter of a mafia family who left that world behind after her whole clan was killed. She now works at the Sakamoto store with Shin, and is living a peaceful life. But it seems that her past has finally caught up with her. The appearance of Lu Wutang, an intelligent and slightly creepy man has come to Japan to take Lu back to her mafia family, as he wants Lu to take over the family legacy, but she refuses. He then takes her, Sakamoto, and Shin to an underground casino.
Unlike the other enemies before, Lu Wutang is not physically strong. But he makes up for it with his brains. He challenged Sakamoto, Shin, and Lu to make more money than him in the casino, and is already up by 60 million Yen. I’m really excited about the next part of the story and see how the three fare against this brilliant man. Much like the first half, the second half had some humorous moments which kept the mood light. I especially loved how Wutang randomly started bleeding from his nose after seeing how cute Lu Shaotang is.

Overall, the episode was a fun watch which kept true to Yuto Suzuki’s manga. Sakamoto Days episode 11 is coming out on Saturday, 22 March, 2025. Read what secrets Maomao unearthed in The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 Episode 34 in our review.
